Remember this quote from the other day? Well, was I in for a shock. I was in the bedroom with the kids, they were napping and I typing. I heard the walls being cut so I assumed he was cutting in new electrical boxes. I walked out of the bedroom after finishing my post, and the walls were GONE! I stood there in shock for a minute. Kevin noticed my shock and broke the silence with a "hello, Emily" and I said, "what happened?" I should have known that my perfectionist husband wouldn't settle for someone
else's electrical work or shoddy
sheetrock job. He decided to rip the
sheetrock off the walls and redo the entire electric for the room. I asked him, "why we bought a used house?" We should have built our own, because half of the walls have been redone with new
sheetrock. If we ever decide to sell this house, the new owners would be getting a practically new house not a 20+ year old house.
With my dream kitchen going in, I don't think we will ever leave this house. Maybe in our retirement years we will buy a piece of property and build a log cabin. If we keep renovating our house in the style we love, it will be a log cabin on the inside and a modern ranch on the outside. (Speaking of cabin, how is Aunt Chris doing on hers? She has a gorgeous piece of land!)
I knew that I couldn't tell this story without pictures so here they are!

Here's to new walls in my new kitchen ...

The ceiling in your kitchen is gorgeous. I can't wait to see the rest of the kitchen when it is finished. When your husband is tired of tearing up your house, let me know. I have a few projects I need to dive into!
Miss ya.
OH MY GOD! I probably had the same look on my face at just the pictures as you did in real life!! Just think of how wonderful it will look when it is all said and done! Love you, Kristen
Oh Emily... how I wish I could share with you the process you've just begun. lol
I can't wait for everyone to be here for the wedding. Joe and Kevin and my dad will have plenty to talk about for sure!!
Holy crap!!! I would move out!!! Your house looks crazy!
You are one brave girl-----especially with two little ones---but I must say that Kevin is very talented and you are very lucky to have someone that can do all that----hang on to the cabin thought---we might have property someday for you--at the rate we are going we are never going to make progress...it all this going to be done before you get here for the wedding? or do you have to go home to it also--actually having a week of rest and relazxation will probably be good for all of you---what day are you going to Disney---Becky and LIndsey were asking----can't wait to see you.....xoxoxox Aunt Chris
I am glad everyone likes the ceiling! I have to say Kevin is good. I walked out to those walls and by the same time the next day there was brand new sheetrock up. He has moved along very quickly. Aside from not being able to cook, which is one of my favorite things to do, I really haven't been disrupted too much. Kevin put up a sheet and the dust is staying in there for the most part. So far, it isn't that bad. The kids could care less. I am focusing on the end product!
Sheila- Do you think I could "pimp" out Kevin for money?
